Happy to announce that the latest book for Cassandra Golds, for which I have done the cover, has just been released by Penguin Australia (I also illustrated the covers of her previous novels "Clair de Lune" and "The Museum of Mary Child".
"Persimmon lives a solitary life, pouring her passion into the florist shop she owns in the underground railway station. Her only companion is Rose, a talking cabbage. Intriguing young men come and go but Persimmon has yet to find the love of her life.
Several levels beneath Persimmon's shop lives a mouse called Epiphany. Epiphany has a questing mind. She wants to know what lies beyond the dark tunnels of her home. As in all good fables, Persimmon and Epiphany are destined to meet. And when they do, life will never be the same again."

I'll be heading up to Sydney to help out at the Illustrators Australia A3 Show, Wednesday, March 31 @ The Fraser Studios, 10 - 14 Kensington Street, Chippendale Sydney from 6 - 8 pm. It's an exhibition of open edition giclee prints of work by Illustrators Australia members, so there should be some fantastic work to see. Prints will be available for $100 each - the exhibition only runs until April 2, so if you're in the area - go and check it out!
This is my piece, entitled "Gravity":

I took part in my first group exhibition at Lamington Drive last week (Feb 4). It was quite a challenge to go back to two colour hand separations - the exhibition is a collection of Risographic prints, which are apparently a souped up kind of Gocco print. I was really pleased with how my piece came out - not often that I get to work with Fluorescent Pink! The show is on until February 20, 2010 @ Lamington Drive, 89 George Street, Fitzroy (Victoria / Australia).
The prints are in an edition of 10 and are available for $50 each, with a percentage of each sale going to Medecins Sans Frontieres for their Haiti relief effort.

I think I have set quite a challenge for myself in the first half of 2010... in addition to my commissioned work I am tackling an animation for friends Die Roten Punkte, and am in discussions for doing a comic / graphic novel about psychotherapy. So far, so good - happy to say I'm well on track, with room for more if need be! |
